Top 5 Potential Villains For ‘The Book Of Boba Fett’ Season 2
“Jabba ruled with fear. I intend to rule with respect.”
The Book of Boba Fett seems to be far from over. Despite wrapping up fairly cleanly with the death of Cad Bane and the reclaiming of Mos Espa from the Pyke Syndicate, a number of plot and character threads remain unanswered from the show. There is also the possibility of future challengers to Fett’s newly-acquired throne. What other forces will attempt to seize control of Tatooine, and how will the former bounty hunter and his Fett Gotra deal with them? While the series has yet to be officially renewed, rumors about a second season continue circulating. If The Book of Boba Fett does end up getting another season, I would like to put forth a few ideas for who could serve as new rivals for Fett going forward. Here are five potential antagonists for The Book of Boba Fett Season 2.
5. Xizor
Since his official canonization in Crimson Reign by Charles Soule, Star Wars fans have been hoping for the notorious Prince Xizor to have his onscreen debut in the current canon. What better place than a show focusing on the galaxy’s criminal underworld? Xizor and his crime syndicate, the Black Sun, would serve as strong opposition to Fett and his group on Tatooine. It would also be fun to see Fett, who’s still getting used to his new position, have to go up against a far more experienced crime lord with more resources and people to spare.

4. Aurra Sing
Like Cad Bane, Aurra Sing is a bounty hunter character with whom Fett has a history. Sing has even more of a history with Fett than Bane since she was the one who initially taught Fett the ways of bounty hunting in the three-part finale of The Clone Wars’ second season. Having Aurra be hired by another syndicate to go against Fett would be a worthy challenge for the head of Mos Espa. Though Sing was seemingly killed off in a throwaway line of dialogue in Solo: A Star Wars Story, that doesn’t mean Lucasfilm couldn’t still retcon that line and bring her back for another shot at her former pupil.
3. Rotta The Hutt
The son of Jabba the Hutt, Rotta had his debut in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars movie and has not been seen since The Clone Wars episode Sphere of Influence. So whatever happened to the little guy? Has he become a prominent gangster in the underworld like his father before him? If so, he could be a suitable rival for Fett, who is currently in control of his father’s wealth and resources. Protecting his new territory from the son of his former employer would be a worthy challenge for Fett and bring him into further conflict with the Hutt Clan, who were already established in the show by Jabba’s twin cousins. This would also be a good opportunity to expand upon the Hutts and their current place in the underworld following Jabba’s death.
2. Qi’ra
Since her return in the War of the Bounty Hunters comic event, fans have been speculating about the future of Qi’ra, Han Solo’s former love interest and current leader of the crime syndicate Crimson Dawn. Qi’ra having a role in The Book of Boba Fett isn’t an impossible idea since the show has been focused on crime syndicates, and Fett was the one who took Han Solo back from Qi’ra at the end of the story. In addition, Emilia Clarke has continued to express interest in reprising her role in a future live-action Star Wars project, and the character’s story still has tons of potential. Regarding rival crime bosses, Qi’ra is among the best candidates for the show’s next season.
1. Omega
In terms of potential rivals for Fett, few are as compelling as his sister, Omega. Introduced in The Bad Batch animated series, Omega was revealed to be another direct clone of Jango Fett created in secret by the Kaminoan scientists. As such, the concept of Fett meeting Omega seems practically inevitable. As of now, Omega is taking on various bounties alongside fellow defective clones Hunter, Echo, Tech, and Wrecker. So who’s to say that she (and possibly the rest of Clone Force 99) couldn’t be hired to go up against Fett and his team in a future season?
Even if The Book of Boba Fett doesn’t get a second season, I don’t think the story of the Fett Gotra is anywhere near over. However, Fett’s side of the Star Wars galaxy ends up playing out. He’s sure to face more challengers to his throne and his newfound tribe in the near future. The criminal underworld of Star Wars is as vast as it is scummy. And whatever wretched forces do end up going against Fett, they had better hope fate steps in to rescue them.
