This Might Be What The Prisoners At Narkina 5 Have Been Assembling

One of the things fans seem to appreciate in Andor is the fact that there’s little to no wasted motion, and almost everything in the show is very well explained. However, one thing that isn’t explained is what the prisoners are building. However, as always, whenever there’s a mystery, especially one that seems to be built on purpose, fans rush in with plenty of theories. Some have chimed in to say that they could be building probe droids, which thanks to The Empire Strikes Back, we know that the Empire has thousands of. Many have also theorized it’s part of the Death Star, which we know is being built now and would further tie the show into Rogue One, where the titular character first appeared. It could also be parts for AT-ATs or AT-STs, which the Empire also has plenty of. Also, never discount the Star Destroyer. There are even theories that they’re building nothing, with other prisoners taking the completed pieces apart, which is certainly something evil enough for the Empire to do. However, another idea has shown up and is something that has been in plain sight in the series the whole time.

It very well could be that they’re building parts to our old friend, the TIE fighter. One of the main pieces of evidence for this is the design of the thing. We know that the design that they’re building has the beginning of six ‘arms’ reaching out. Similarly, the panels on the side of a TIE fighter have 6 ‘arms’ in a very similar fashion.

We’ve seen TIE fighters in the series, so they have to be produced by someone already, and given the sheer number of them, it would require thousands and thousands of workers, similar to the working conditions of Narkita 5. We also know that they’re being made after this time due to their numerous appearances in Rogue One and the original trilogy. But that’s just a theory…an Andor theory.
