A Day At Ottawa Mini-Comiccon
The first weekend of April is very busy in the city of Ottawa. There was a wedding show, a liquidation, a Warhammer tournament, and a Mini-Comiccon. Unlike the much larger Ottawa Comiccon, which takes place in September, Ottawa Mini-Comiccon functioned as more of an artists’ showcase and retail experience. Admission was free, and excited patrons lined up each day well before the opening time at 11 A.M.
There were many interesting artists, vendors, and costumes galore! It would be impossible to profile everything in a single article. The selection here showcases the wide range of interests at the convention.

No convention is complete without all the amazing cosplays and interactive experiences. It is nice to wind down with a Psyduck funfetti cookie from a local bakery taking in the scene and checking out the 501st Legion troopers marching by. The wackiest thing that occurred at the convention will have to be the Doctor Who Society’s Daleks roaming the floor and making a competition out of stealing peoples’ hats.
