Awesome Fan Made Video Casts Karl Urban As Wolverine
Since Disney has regained the rights to the X-Men through their acquisition of 20th Century Fox, the thematic throwback at the end of Ms. Marvel, and most recently with the little easter egg on a webpage in She-Hulk: Attorney At Law, rumors and speculation abounds about what, when, and how the X-Men will enter the MCU. Now, a deep fake of a fantasy casting for the MCU’s Wolverine was posted August 22 on YouTube. That fantasy casting places none other than Karl Urban into the role of the temperamental, metal-clawed mutant. It uses a scene from one of the Wolverine movies and often juxtaposes the original film’s Hugh Jackman with the deep-faked Karl Urban.
Karl Urban is, of course, best known for his role as Eomer in The Two Towers and The Return of the King, and he went on to play Judge Dredd in the 2012 reboot of the 1995 film, and he now portrays Billy Butcher in the Amazon Prime adaptation of The Boys. People have thrown out ideas of Daniel Radcliffe, Taron Egerton, Keanu Reeves, and even Jared Keeso from Letterkenny. But with this Karl Urban deep fake, it’s an uncanny and unrivaled casting. Maybe it’s their deep-southern-hemisphere roots, but if someone has to succeed Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, this video makes a solid argument for the casting of the New Zealander.
