'Skeleton Crew' Episode 7 Spoiler-Free Review
The penultimate episode of Skeleton Crew is titled “We’re Gonna Be In So Much Trouble, and there is no fitting title more than this one. The episode reveals Jod’s true self and finally takes us to At Attin. It’s definitely an episode that sets up an exciting finale.
Hello, World!
At the end of last week’s episode, Jod was captured by his ex-pirate crew. They held him prisoner, even though he promised them massive treasure once they arrived on At Attin. Meanwhile, the kids almost make it home, when they are pulled into the tractor beam of the pirate ship. They see that Jod is among the pirates, and try their best to keep others away. Of course, it doesn’t work, and Jod is able to take over the pirates, and the kid’s ship. They then receive a message from their parents, telling them they love them and want them to come home. Unfortunately, Jod stays with them and threatens their lives, and their parents, if they say anything about his plan. Once on At Attin, they are brought to the Mint, where Jod’s eyes see nothing but money signs in front of him. The children and their parents reunite. At Attin doesn’t know what is in store for them during the finale. Let’s hope our heroes all come out alive.
RELATED:
This episode showed Jod’s true colors, and let’s just say he is not a good guy. He was able to mask himself, but it shows that his “caring for the kids” was all an act. He went hungry with power once he was able to get back his old crew. He’s also been using the lightsaber more and even went as far as threatening the children and their parents if they revealed his plans. He also called them pathetic, but this show has proven that they are anything but pathetic. I thought Jod was a cool dude earlier in the season, but after this, I hope he meets his demise in the finale. Don’t get me wrong, he’s a great character, and Jude Law is incredible, but Jod himself deserves a miserable ending.
Minor spoiler but they finally make it back to At Attin. It was great seeing the kids and their parents reunite. They all care deeply about their kids, and this was evident when they broke the rules to communicate with their kids. The kids are also in a predicament, because they know what is about to happen, but can’t say anything at the risk of them, and their parents, being killed by Jod. These kids have been resourceful the entire season, so I can’t wait to see what they are able to do to stop Jod, or maybe they won’t, but this is Star Wars after all, and the heroes (pretty much) always come out on top.
Skeleton Crew has been a breath of fresh air in the Star Wars universe. It’s been great to see the universe from a kid’s point of view. As much as I love the Jedi and the Skywalker Saga, I love that we’ve been getting different stories lately. I cannot wait to see how this season ends, and hopefully, we get a season 2!
