3. Jeff Grubb Says That The Nintendo Switch Successor Will Be A More Significant Game Boy Color
Speculation regarding the successor to the Nintendo Switch has continuously been doing the rounds, with rumors of a Switch Pro leading nowhere. While speaking on Kinda Funny Games Daily as part of the Nintendo Switch 6th anniversary episode, Jeff Grubb presented some information on what that successor could be.
“Not Pro, maybe not even a Switch 2. Maybe something in between that is definitely an actual upgrade in terms of hardware. But in terms of the way that Nintendo positions it, it feels like they could try to straddle the line a little bit and do like a Super Switch that continues the generation in a way that is more significant than they’ve done since the Game Boy Color. But even more significant than that.”
The Game Boy Color followed the Game Boy as the second of Nintendo’s handheld devices. Bringing color to handheld games, allowed the extensive library of the Game Boy to be played on it. Backward compatibility isn’t a new trick anymore, and neither is the ability to play a game on the previous generation as well as the current. So what could be more significant than those two ideas?
Grubb doesn’t elaborate on that, but he does highlight that Nintendo has been public about wanting to continue building on the momentum that they’ve currently got. As Grubb puts it, “…they have Nintendo Switch Online. They have a lot of subscribers. A lot of people are spending a lot of money buying video games. And they don’t want to disrupt or lose any of their momentum, ‘cus all the other companies have figured out how to maintain it.”
Whatever Nintendo plans, it is unknown when we’ll hear of them. But with them not attending E3 this year, the one thing that seems certain is that those plans won’t be revealed during the summer.

2. Rumor Of Plot Synopsis Of Upcoming ‘Captain America: New World Order’ Arises Online
Despite the news that Disney is slowing down the rollout of Marvel and Star Wars projects, the ones that are already slated continue to accrue rumor after rumor.
The other day, a synopsis of the next Captain America movie, titled New World Order. According to @Marvel_updat3s on Twitter, we’ll finally have an answer for how the world reacts to the giant, petrified Celestial, Tiamut, sticking out of the ocean from The Eternals.
Apparently, there will be international conflict when they discover a new metal as a result of the Celestial’s stalled rise. That metal would be none other than Adamantium. Everyone wants some of the metal for themselves, including the President of the United States, Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, played by Harrison Ford. It seems Ross will try to claim the Adamantium at all costs, but Sam Wilson, the new Captain America, will get in his way. He assembles a team of heroes to do it, but Ross and the other villains have other plans.
If this pans out to be true, it has huge implications for the MCU, especially because Adamantium, the supposedly indestructible metal, is what Wolverine’s skeleton and claws are made of. And we know the mutants are coming. Could this be the ultimate reveal of the long-awaited mutants?
We’ll have to wait until 2024 to find out.

1. The Acolyte Adds Alex Garcia Lopez And Kogonda As Directors
The newest Star Wars show, The Acolyte is currently entering its fifth month of filming in the UK. Lucasfilm has revealed the cast for this new show, with Amanda Stenberg in the lead role. While fans know about the cast, reveals about the directors and others working on the show have been quieter. All we know is that Leslye Headland is the captain of the ship.
According to an insider, Daniel Richtman, it seems two directors for the upcoming Star Wars show have been revealed. Kogonada, who is known for After Dark, and Alex Garcia Lopez who has directed episodes of The Witcher. It is currently unknown how many episodes these two will direct, considering we don’t even know how many episodes will be in the series in total. Neither of these directors is unfamiliar with directing TV shows, as both have a history of popular projects under their belts. Kogonado also directed a few episodes of the Apple TV Plus series Pachinko. Garcia Lopez is also a prolific director and has worked with Nexflix on a variety of projects such as Cowboy Bebop, Daredevil, The Punisher, and Luke Cage.
With Star Wars Celebration in London next month, more details of the upcoming show will most likely be revealed. Attendees could even see a first look at the series. The full directors and writers list will most likely not be revealed during Celebration, and we might not know that until the show gets closer to release.
