Yuka Motohashi, Of 'Gekisou Sentai Carranger' Fame, Passes At Age 46

Yuka Motohashi, the Japanese actress most known for Natsumi Shinohara/Yellow Racer in Gekisou Sentai Carranger, passed away on May 31st from an unknown cancer at the age of 46. Her death was announced on X by director Hidekazu Takahara.

Translated, it reads:

"Yuka Motohashi passed away.
Friday, May 31, 8:43 a.m. She was 46 years old.
She had been battling with cancer of unknown primary source for three years.
Her health suddenly changed on Wednesday and she did not return home.
The funeral will be a family affair, so we cannot inform you.
I hope to be able to tell you about Yuka Motohashi again
I am just so sorry for her now.”

Motohashi was born on February 23rd, 1978, in Tokyo, Japan, and graduated from Shakujii High School. She rose to prominence as Natsumi Shinohara/Yellow Racer in Gekisou Sentai Carranger. The series was later adapted into Power Rangers Turbo. Motohashi also appeared in Kamen Rider × Kamen Rider OOO & W Featuring Skull: Movie War Core as the character Naomi. Motohashi’s cancer diagnosis was announced on August 11, 2021. Her last appearance was in Avataro Sentai Donbrothers as Sonona. Shout Factory began streaming episodes of Gekisou Sentai Carranger on their TokuSHOUTtsu YouTube Channel as a tribute to the late actress.
