Young Boba Fett Congratulates Big Boba Fett In Instagram Post

It is quite poetic, really. Boba Fett has grown precisely like his father, Jango Fett. Well, it is to be expected. After all, Boba Fett is the unaltered clone of Jango Fett. Moreover, he is an identical copy of his "father." Back in October 2020, in the second season premiere of The Mandalorian, Temuera Morrison brought the character of Boba Fett back to the screen. To the delight and excitement of Star Wars fans everywhere, the enigmatic bounty hunter is here to stay. Temuera Morrison and his portrayal of Boba Fett throughout the second season of The Mandalorian has expanded the character beyond the four lines and six minutes of screen time in the original trilogy. Morrison has molded and developed the character, making the quiet figure behind the armor more well-rounded and seem more relatable.

The success and popularity of Boba Fett in The Mandalorian no doubt led to the development of the spin-off series The Book of Boba Fett, where fans will finally learn more about the bounty hunter's life and, more importantly, see it in live-action on-screen. So what better way to celebrate the character's success than for the young Boba Fett to congratulate the older Boba Fett?

A couple of days ago, Daniel Logan posted a picture on his Instagram account congratulating Temuera Morrison on his recent comeback as Boba Fett.

When this picture was taken, these three men represented the Fett's and the father and son relationship between Jango Fett and Boba Fett. Today, the image has a different meaning. We now have all the Boba Fett's in the same picture. If you remember, Daniel Logan (left) played the young Boba Fett in Attack of the Clones. We last saw him shocked; holding Jango Fett's helmet in the Geonosis arena. We also have Jeremy Bulloch (right), the man who originally portrayed the character of Boba Fett. While we did not see his face, his six minutes of screen time sparked our imagination. If not for his portrayal in the original trilogy, we would not have the larger-than-life bounty hunter today. Now, we have Temuera Morrison (middle), who portrays the reborn Boba Fett after he emerges from the Sarlacc pit. The Book of Boba Fett will show us his past and present adventures. Morrison explains his thoughts, reflecting our opinion of the character's return.

"There were moments when I put the armor on and I was looking at [executive producers] Dave [Filoni] and Jon [Favreau], and the expression on their faces just said it all...It felt good. It felt right. It felt like, 'Yes, I should be wearing this costume.' And it gave me this sense of, 'I'm back.'"

The character of Boba Fett first appeared in The Star Wars Holiday Special in 1978. Then, in The Empire Strikes Back when Darth Vader enlisted the help of a group of bounty hunters in the search for Han Solo. Boba Fett, alone, could track down the Millennium Falcon to Cloud City. He would then deliver the smuggler, frozen in carbonite, to Jabba the Hutt and claim his bounty. Unfortunately, his adventure seemingly ended when the blind Han Solo caused him to fall into the Sarlacc pit in Return of the Jedi. However, fans would continue to fill in the blanks of his Expanded Universe story, now called Legends. Although these stories are no longer considered canon, we were able to see Boba Fett survive the Sarlacc, continue his bounty hunter career, become Mandalore, and eventually lead the new Mandalorians against the Yuuzhan Vong in the Yuuzhan Vong War.

Chronologically, in the Star Wars timeline, Marvel's canon comic series War of the Bounty Hunters filled in blanks in Boba Fett's story between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. However, the Mandalorian brings him back five years after Return of the Jedi, telling us that his story is not over, and he continues his chronicle. The Book of Boba Fett continues this narrative while also filling us in on his history. So far, we can see his story in the time between Return of the Jedi and The Mandalorian. Perhaps, we will get to see more in the coming weeks.
