'X-Men' And 'Thor' Stars Join Together For High Paced Spy Thriller
Steven Soderbergh’s newest spy thriller, Black Bag, has revealed two stars attached to it. Cate Blanchett has appeared in Soderbergh movies The Good German and Ocean’s 8. Michael Fassbender has appeared in Soderbergh’s Haywire. If it seems like Soderbergh is bringing in those he’s familiar with, that would be true. David Koepp, who Soderbergh worked with on the thriller film Presence, has written the script for Black Bag.
At present, this is a project that is looking for buyers willing to finance and distribute it, much like the secret project of Ryan Coogler that has recently been in the spotlight. Shooting for Black Bag is set to begin in May if a deal is made. Those shoots will take place in London, but that is all that is known about this project. Other crew that are attached to the project are Casey Silver and Greg Jacobs, who will be the producers for the film.
The actors of Blanchett and Fassbender are high-profile names. Blanchett has portrayed the main villain Hela in Thor: Ragnarok and has been a staple of The Lord of the Rings films as Galadriel. Fassbender has also portrayed a comic book villain, starring in the X-Men films as Magneto, and was the lead character of Alien: Covenant.
