Lady Gaga Tapped To Play Harley Quinn In ‘Joker 2’
The Joker news just keeps on coming! With the sequel recently confirmed by Director Todd Phillips, we have our first bit of information regarding the cast. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lady Gaga is in talks to join the cast as the fan-favorite Harley Quinn. Nothing is finalized yet, but the pop star would be joining to play a “much different version” of the character known as Harley Quinn. One could only imagine what Phillips and the crew have cooked up for this sequel. It is safe to say that this iteration of Harley will be quite distinct from Margot Robbie’s portrayal in the DCEU.
Titled Joker: Folie à Deux, this sequel seems to be going in a different direction than the first Joker movie. Its title means two people who share a mental illness, hinting that there will be another character who will suffer the same ailment as the Joker. Who else shares the Joker’s pain other than his love Harleen Quinzel?

According to the same report by The Hollywood Reporter, the sequel will be a musical, which is fitting for Lady Gaga given her history with music. While the first Joker movie distinguishes itself from the rest with its contained story and character study by stepping away from the comic book aspects to create a more realistic feel. It would seem that once again we will be getting something different. This time around the clown prince of crime might take the stage and make some music. Let's hope he is a better musician than he is a comedian!
