San Diego Comic-Con is often seen as a dream resort for nerds. Those who prefer the Sci-Fi aspect of nerd culture will likely be drawn to a special one-time panel this year. On July 27th, a Saturday, at 5:30 PM local time, Russel T. Davies (showrunner of Dr. Who) and Alex Kurtzman (showrunner of Star Trek: Discovery) will have a creator-to-creator discussion. In a move that fans of both franchises would admire, the two creators won’t be at each other’s throats. Instead, they will be discussing storytelling as an artform, and the power of friendship in fiction.

The panel has been dubbed the SDCC Intergalactic Friendship Panel: Star Trek x Doctor Who panel and will be moderated by Keisha Hatchett, staff editor of TVLine. It will be under the banner Friendship is Universal, which will have activation hours of operation are Thursday, July 25 through Saturday, July 27 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM, and Sunday 28th July 2024 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
