Warner Bros. Confirms That 'Constantine' Will Still Have A Keanu Reeves-Led Sequel
In 2005, actor Keanu Reeves brought the cynical exorcist John Constantine to the big screen. Reeves made the character into his own, breaking traditional portrayal and helping to create a cult classic. It took nearly 20 years for a sequel to be greenlit. Although fans were concerned with the very little talk surrounding the project, the project is still pushing along!
James Gunn and Peter Safran recently announced their first phase of the new DC Cinematic Universe despite cancellations becoming frequent of late. There have been conversations regarding Constantine 2 for a little while now though the project is in the early stages of development. However, it was pointedly missing from the confirmed upcoming Chapter One projects. Not to worry, a Warner Bros. spokesperson reportedly told Entertainment Weekly that the project has not been scrapped.

The first Constantine film had plot elements taken from the 1991 Dangerous Habits arc of the Hellblazer comic series. It ended with Constantine being returned by Lucifer to the human plane. The fallen archangel has healed the exorcist so he can claim his soul once and for all in the future. With an ending like that, there are many possible directions for this sequel.
