Once more, Henry has come to see us.

Warhorse Studios, a Czech Republic game development studio, has officially announced the upcoming arrival of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.

While its predecessor had an initial rocky start, the game's sales and fan base ballooned rapidly over time, resulting in a massive international community that is rejoicing at the news that the medieval simulation game finally has its long-awaited part two. The game originally was meant to be twice its original length but time, money, and development constraints meant what audiences got was, while more than sufficient, incomplete. Warhorse is making up for that with interest with their upcoming release, promising a game with more than double the map area, gameplay, and cinematics.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 returns us to the shoes of Henry of Skalitz, a Bohemian peasant turned man-at-arms in the service of his liege lord, Sir Radzig Kobyla, following the destruction of his village and the murder of his parents. Backdropped by war in the broken Holy Roman Empire, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 promises to start where its prequel ended, with Henry and his friend Lord Hans Capon traveling to deliver a message to a potential noble ally, a simple task guaranteed to turn into a messy and complicated affair.

The announcement trailer showcased spectacularly upgraded graphics, an impressive feat for a game that was already stunningly detailed on its last-gen and PC consoles release six years prior. Developers also promised an enhanced NPC interaction system, with a dynamic world and reputation system dependent on your actions. Characters are promised to react to your decisions and choices, and as a cutscene of Henry being branded suggests, some ways you choose to play may have dire consequences.

Various minigames, such as the dice game Farkle and weapons maintenance, are set to return, along with hunting, alchemy, and possibly weapon forging, a skill missing in the first game, despite Henry's previous occupation as a blacksmith's apprentice.

And speaking of weapons, the announcement video promises Henry will gain access to, as of the period, cutting new tech such as crossbows and rudimentary explosives. These will lend themselves well to Henry's seemingly far more fluid combat encounters, which include new, faster combos and possibly finishers.

While a date hasn't been set, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is scheduled to release in late 2024 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S, and PC.
