Voice Actor Jan Rabson, Best Known As The Voice Behind 'Leisure Suit Larry,' Passed Away At Age 68
Jan Rabson, the voice actor behind the always lovesick Larry Laffer from the Leisure Suit Larry video game series, passed away on October 13th at the age of 68. His cause of death has not been revealed. The actor was born on June 14, 1954, in East Meadow, New York. Rabson was a member of Tonight Show host Johnny Carson's “Mighty Carson Players” where he performed in a variety of sketches. The actor also voiced Tetsuo Shimada in the original Streamline English dub of the acclaimed anime film Akira. His other roles included Kerma in the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon along with several characters in various Pixar films like Axel in A Bug's Life and the seagulls in Finding Nemo.
Rabson made his grand debut as Larry Laffer in Leisure Suit Larry 6: Shape Up or Slip Out! and continued to voice the character in subsequent games in the series with his last performance being in 2020 title Leisure Suit Larry: Wet Dreams Dry Twice. His other video game roles included the Desolation Alley Landing Controller in Star Wars: Bounty Hunter.
