Vin Diesel Reveals Secrets About His Groot Script

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has finally held the film’s world premiere. Each of the Guardians showed up and shared their thoughts and feelings on their ten-year journey as superheroes. Toward the end of the world premiere, Vin Diesel made an appearance on stage with his daughter, wearing a unique jacket featuring the characterization of Groot. Vin’s goal is to have the cast sign the Groot jacket and then donate it to a charity to help children.

This would not be the first world premiere to which Vin has donated a Groot jacket. Near the end of the world premiere is when Vin Diesel reveals a true treasure about his experience as the iconic Groot. James Gunn gave scripts out to the cast that was inclusive of what all the Guardians had to say in the film except Groot. Groot's lines would still read as “I am Groot.“ Vin Diesel was the exception as Vin got to see what Groot said rather than “I am Groot.”

Vin would elaborate by saying: "James Gunn would always write a script that had the line that was intended so I’m the only person in the world that has this script but there’s a line of dialogue for every line of “I am Groot” and sometimes it is a whole paragraph.”

When fans of Guardians of the Galaxy found out about this, they began to wonder about Groot's perspective on the situation. Luckily, the emotions behind every "I am Groot" line have been accurately portrayed in each volume of the Guardians of the Galaxy series.
