V/H/S/85 Set For September World Premier At Fantastic Fest And Releases First Photo

The hit indie film series V/H/S has seen its fair share of success over the years. First released in 2012, the films all center around small found footage vignettes, often with a main story in between the segments. It’s had some of the best horror talent working behind the films, such as Ti West (X), Radio Silence (Scream, Scream VI), and Eduardo Sanchez (The Blair Witch Project). The films have undeniable passion put into them. While the segments can be very hit and miss, when it’s good, it’s really good.
In a few short months, we’ll have the sixth installment in the series, V/H/S/85, to add to the mix. While an exact release date has not been mentioned, it is known that this Shudder exclusive will be released on the platform We don’t have a ton of information on the film itself, but we do have an early screenshot from the film.

Fantastic Fest describes the movie by saying, "The iconic found footage series returns with an array of explosive, bloody scares set in a decade obsessed with serial killers and the Satanic Panic.” There is a lot to work with in that regard. The V/H/S series has always been a marriage of campy and horror, so they can definitely keep that trend going. It’s still probable that the individual segments will be rather hit and miss, as is usual for anthology films in general. Hopefully, we get enough fun, scary segments to balance out any of the film’s weaknesses. Come October on Shudder, we’ll get to find out.
