Universal Orlando Resort has been putting out some amazing teasers that leave everyone buzzing about its third theme park, Epic Universe, opening in May 2025. Epic Universe will open as Universal’s third Orlando theme park, joining Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. The anticipation seems to already be topping Universal’s last major expansion when The Wizarding World of Harry Potter launched at Islands of Adventure in 2010.

Epic Universe will have four major lands: the Dark Universe with the Universal Monsters, the Isle of Berk from How to Train Your Dragon, Super Nintendo World, and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - The Ministry of Magic. The new area will bring visitors to the 1920s with the mystical Place Cachée in wizarding Paris, drawing inspiration from Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them with its shops, restaurants, and distinctly French flair.

Guests will use the Métro-Floo network to travel through time and space, arriving at the Ministry of Magic in the 1990s just in time to witness Dolores Umbridge being put on trial. This narrative explores events not covered in the Harry Potter books or films, allowing Universal significant creative freedom. The storyline for the new ride, Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, follows Umbridge's mid-trial escape, with guests joining Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Umbridge's former house elf, Higgledy, as they travel around the Ministry of Magic.

The entrance at the Ministry of Magic showcases larger-than-life banners of Umbridge, distinctive green-tiled walls and floors, and gold architectural accents.

Each ride vehicle for Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry seats approximately ten guests with individual seat belts and requires a minimum height of 40”. Early concept art shows the ride vehicle tilted in the air, with no track or floor in sight. Universal's official description only confirms the vehicles as “omnidirectional lifts.” The ride is a thrill ride with motion simulation, similar to both Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey and Harry Potter and the Escape From Gringotts rides, though those rides are 3-D/4-D experiences—a feature not mentioned for this newest attraction.

With Epic Universe's grand opening just months away, the anticipation among theme park enthusiasts and Harry Potter fans continues to build to unprecedented levels. The promise of experiencing a never-before-told story combined with Universal's track record of groundbreaking attractions will be well worth the wait!
