How Anakin Can Fit Into The ‘Ahsoka’ Series

As we all know Ahsoka Tano made her live action debut in The Mandalorian. It was a moment many of us had been waiting for. There is a lot of love for the Togruta Jedi among the Star Wars fan base. She has been such an engaging and well fleshed out character from the moment she was introduced in the Clone Wars animated movie and the subsequent animated series. Ahsoka is genuinely the character in Star Wars I hold most dear. She embodies everything that is right. She also perfectly highlights the flaws of the Jedi Order during this time period when she chooses to leave the Order. It is no surprise that we would see her star in her own spin-off series.

When Ahsoka Tano was first introduced to us, she was a young Padawan learner who was assigned to Anakin Skywalker during the Clone Wars. The relationship between the two was so well crafted by the creators of the Clone Wars series. In each and every scene, you could tell how much thought, time, and effort went into making the dynamic between Anakin and Ahsoka seemed so real. While their relationship started off rocky, they went from master and learner to family. Their bond also helped them develop in their own ways. Ahsoka became more and more inventive with her tactics, and Anakin became more compassionate. In turn, they both became more effective and better Jedi.

Recent reports have come out that Hayden Christensen will be reprising his role as Anakin Skywalker for the Ahsoka series. The thought of seeing “Skyguy” and “Snips” interacting with each other again for the first time since their epic encounter in Rebels makes me more excited than I care to admit. In Rebels, they met not as master and Padawan, but as Sith vs. Jedi. What will be the nature of their meeting this time? So much has changed since their clash. Anakin had redeemed himself, and become a Force ghost. There was not a lot of time for the two to converse during that lightsaber duel. Perhaps Anakin will finally have a chance to explain his reason for turning to the Dark Side to Ahsoka. Maybe he will bring up lessons he has learned. There is so much potential here for another emotional reunion. We will also have the opportunity to see Hayden Christensen and Rosario Dawson play this out in live action.

The reunion itself brings up more intrigue. Fans have been theorizing about the pair ever since the release of Rise of Skywalker where both their voices were heard in Rey’s “all the Jedi” moment. Did Ahsoka learn of her old master’s return to the Light Side of the Force? Did the Force ghost of Anakin make contact with her after Return of the Jedi? Also, if voices of Jedi in that scene were all Force ghosts, does that mean Ahsoka is no longer with us in the sequel era?

There are many ways for Anakin to enter the storyline of the Ahsoka series. The Force ghost of Anakin could reach out to his former Padawan? Perhaps Ahsoka reach out to Anakin for some guidance as things get difficult in her search for Grand Admiral Thrawn. Anakin can also appear in a flashback scene as Ahsoka thinks back on their past. There are so many things I would like to see in this series in regards to Ahsoka and Anakin. I would love to see them reconcile after the intense showdown they had all those years ago, and for Ahsoka to tell Anakin about her life since that event.

None of us are really sure what to expect from this encounter. Those of us who had seen the Clone Wars and Rebels know that this will be another heartfelt and emotional reunion. Believe me when I say this will tug at the heart strings. Get ready for another emotional roller coaster!
