Trial Date For Johnathon Majors' Assault Case Set After Judge Denies Motion To Dismiss Charges
Many rumors circulated after Jonathan Major’s arrest after an alleged domestic violence incident occurred on March 25 between Majors and Grace Jabbari. Now, New York Judge Michael Gaffey rejected a motion from the defense to dismiss the misdemeanor assault charges against the actor. The judge made a trial date for November 29.
The defense did request particular pieces of evidence remain under seal, away from public view. Their argument was if this “sensitive information” leaked to the public sphere, their client would lose the right to a fair trial. The judge did not make a ruling on this, but he did offer the press the opportunity to submit documentation in opposition to the defense’s request, and he will review it.

In June, the Loki actor filed a cross-complaint against Jabbari, alleging she attacked first. Priya Chaudhry, Major’s attorney, denies her client of any wrongdoing. She insists Majors called 911 from being concerned about Jabbari’s mental state. Judge Gaffey said he would issue a new order to bar Majors and Jabbari from contacting one another.
Major’s defense team claims the state of New York withholds evidence that will vindicate the actor, even cast doubt upon Jabbari’s testimony. As of right now, Jabbari claims she and Majors were riding in a car together when she saw a text message on Majors’ phone saying, “Wish I was kissing you right now.” She reached over to grab the phone, but this was when Majors allegedly grabbed her hand, twisted her forearm, struck her ear, and after the two exited the car, Majors allegedly “threw her back inside” the vehicle.
