Star Wars projects have spanned several genres, and they have the potential to expand into others. With all the lore, from Abeloth to the old Sith legends, there’s plenty of room for horror projects. According to Tony Gilroy, there may be a horror project in the works. In an interview with Business Insider, the Andor creator spoke about the possibility.
When questioned about what he would hypothetically do with a horror project in the Star Wars universe, Gilroy answered seriously, "They're doing that. I think they're doing that. I think that's in the works, yeah." While he skirted around any solid details, the creative gave hope that the project was being worked on. He also clarified that he is “agnostic about what should be done.”

The tone Andor carries makes a difference for other projects creatively. Gilroy wrapped his comments up by stating, "The right creator, and the right moment, and the right vibe … you can do anything. So, my hope is that the show [Andor] connects, and then we can pass along the favor that we were given from Mandalorian, and we can pass along a good healthy backwind to someone else who wants to do something else cool."
Andor is a series showing a new angle of how the Rebellion was formed. The final season is set to premiere on April 22, 2025, exclusively on Disney+. The episode structure differs from the first season, covering a larger span of time and more specific plot poits to lead up to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016). To catch up on where the story left off and where it is building, both Rogue One (2016) and the first season of Andor are available to stream on Disney+.
