This 'Star Wars' Comic May Have The Answers To Our Biggest Sequel Movie Questions

It is no secret that fans were left with more than a few questions when the sequel trilogy finally wrapped up the Skywalker Saga. The Force Awakens brought a lot of questions to the table. Who was Snoke? Who were the Knights of Ren? What happened to Luke? Where were the Ewoks? Are they okay? Every subsequent film seemed to provide more questions than answers, and the answers that were given felt unsatisfying at best and retconned at worse.

Switching gears slightly, Solo was a film that had a lot of potential but fell short with some fans and critics. However, Emilia Clarke’s character, Qi’ra, has endeared herself to fans, and she has endured in the Star Wars lore past her initial debut. With all that being said, the new Star Wars limited comic series, Crimson Reign, aims to answer some major questions about the sequel trilogy and further the story of Qi’ra and Crimson Dawn.

Crimson Reign is the newest series coming to the Star Wars comics, and it was heavily hinted at during the War of the Bounty Hunters series that preceded it. Crimson Reign will actually take place soon after the end of the War of the Bounty Hunters. Despite it being set between Episode V and Episode VI, it will still aim to answer a couple questions that fans have about the sequel trilogy. For one, it looks like it will go into more detail about the Knights of Ren than was shown in any of the sequel trilogy films, much to the dismay of fans. Naturally, Ben Solo will not yet be the leader. While The Rise of Kylo Ren did go into a bit of the backstory of the Knights of Ren, there was still a lot left unanswered, so it looks like Crimson Reign will strive to answer those questions and establish the Knights of Ren as an actual force to be reckoned with.

Another character that will have more time in the spotlight is Ochi. Ochi was a Sith assassin and member of the Sith Eternal Cult. Ochi was introduced in a "blink and you miss it" flashback during The Rise of Skywalker, as the being who killed Rey’s parents. Crimson Reign also promises to further expand on Qi’ra’s story and her role as head of Crimson Dawn. She will be meeting both Ochi and the Knights of Ren in the series, so that should provide some answers. It may also provide an interesting new threat to the galaxy should Qi’ra enlist the help of one or both parties. On the other hand, this could also be quite the obstacle should Qi'ra have to face them. Although Qi’ra has more than proven her ability to hold her own against the worst of the worst, and since she is likely trained by Maul, it would be unwise to pick a fight with her.

Regardless of how many questions about the sequel trilogy get answered, it will be interesting to see the original lineup of the Knights of Ren in action with their original leader. Likewise, it will be fascinating to learn how Ochi and the Sith Eternal Cult operated before the death of the Emperor. The story is set to take place soon after the War of the Bounty Hunters, and it will follow Crimson Dawn as they encounter the Empire along with those characters already mentioned. It looks to tell the story of what happened in the Star Wars underworld while the Rebels and Empire were locked in battle. Despite taking place between Episodes V and VI, there is still a lot of major surprises that could come, featuring the Knights of Ren and Ochi could be only the tip of the iceberg. Fans will have to wait and see when Star Wars: Crimson Reign #1 releases on December 1, 2021.
