‘The Book Of Boba Fett’ Rumored To Have More Episodes Than We Expected
This December, The Book of Boba Fett will ride into Disney+, giving us all some more of our favorite bounty hunter. From his debut in the Star Wars Holiday Special, Boba Fett was quickly embraced by the fandom at large, and this upcoming series is a testament to his enduring popularity. Focusing on Boba Fett's and Fennec Shand's interactions with the remnants of Jabba the Hutt's criminal empire, The Book of Boba Fett promises to return to Tatooine again, and explore the aftermath of Jabba's demise.
Much like the first two seasons of The Mandalorian, many have assumed that Book of Boba Fett would consist of eight episodes. However, recent rumors have stated that we might actually have nine. Jordan Maison, editor-in-chief of Cinelinx, recently posted this tweet.

Though not exactly a reliable source, Maison had allegedly known of the teaser trailer a few hours before it was posted, giving many reasons for us to believe his story. It is currently unknown if The Book of Boba Fett will have a second season. On the other hand, its being a limited series could justify an extra episode. In either case, we do not think for a moment that this will be the last we see of Boba Fett, as he could continue to appear in other Star Wars media.
From his debut in the Star Wars Holiday Special (voiced by Don Francks) to his appearance in The Empire Strikes Back (played by Jeremy Bulloch, but voiced by Jason Wingreen), Boba Fett quickly became a fan favorite. This made his seeming death in Return of the Jedi, where he is sent flying into the Sarlacc Pit by a temporarily blind Han Solo, all the more surprising. The Special Editions would give him a few more scenes, even a cameo during A New Hope.
Fortunately for fans, Legends would have him survive the encounter with the sarlacc, allowing him to appear in the Dark Empire series and other Legends media. Boba maintains his occupation as bounty hunter, and serves as a recurring ally or antagonist. He would also go on to become the new Mandalore.
His popularity would also nab him a talking role as a child in Attack of the Clones (played by Daniel Logan). He was revealed to be a clone of Jango Fett (played by Temuera Morrison), a bounty hunter and the genetic template of all the clone troopers. Jango would be killed during the Battle of Geonosis. Temuera Morrison would go on to redub all of Wingreen's lines in the DVD release of The Empire Strikes Back. Daniel Logan would reprise his role as young Boba in Star Wars: The Clone Wars series, in which he attempts to kill Mace Windu and avenge his father's death. Boba Fett would continue to appear in other Star Wars media, showing up in many video games either as a boss character or an NPC.
His next major appearance would come in the second season of The Mandalorian, which finally canonized his surviving the sarlaac pit. Teaming up with Din Djarin in exchange for the return of his armor, Boba proved to be a valuable ally during the rescue of Grogu. However, it was during the final episode that Boba Fett really shines. In a post-credit scene, Boba and fellow bounty hunter Fennec Shand would kill Bib Fortuna, former majordomo of the late Jabba the Hutt, and take his place at the top of the criminal empire. This all culminated in the announcement of The Book of Boba Fett.A teaser trailer was recently revealed on November 1st. The highly anticipated Book of Boba Fett will be released on Disney+ on December 29th, setting off a string of Star Wars content.
