These Were The Must Watch Shows Of 2023

Disney+ was one of the largest streaming services out there in 2023 for original content, and it’s likely to continue that trend in 2024, based on data released from third-party data analytics companies. The streaming giant produced the top two streaming originals most frequently watched in 2023 by U.S. viewers: The Mandalorian, which started its third season in March 2023, and Loki, which began season two in October 2023. Both shows already had a huge following with previous seasons, so it’s no surprise they continued to triumph with viewers across the country.

The Mandalorian has always been one of the most popular Disney+ original shows, but it won’t have another season yet this year to make room for the two new Star Wars shows being released, The Acolyte and Skeleton Crew. Only time will tell if these two series will live up to the success of the three seasons of The Mandalorian. Surprisingly, Ahsoka didn’t make the cut in the top five original shows for this year, but did come in ninth overall. In addition to Loki, Marvel Studios also saw their miniseries Secret Invasion land in seventh place for 2023.

The third most popular streaming original for 2023 was Ted Lasso, which aired its third season in March 2023 and became the most-watched series on Apple TV+ back with season two. The fourth most-viewed show in 2023 was You on Netflix, and the fifth was Only Murders in the Building on Hulu. Only four major streaming platforms, Disney+, Apple TV+, Netflix, and Hulu, had shows that made it onto the top ten list for the most-watched streaming originals. Both Prime Video (Gen V was #11, and Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan was #12, among others) and Paramount+ (1923 ranked #21 and Criminal Minds ranked #25) also had titles that ranked in the top 25, but none in the top 10.
