'The X-Files' Star Gillian Anderson Opens Up About "That Kiss" At The Emmy's With David Duchovny

Gillian Anderson dropped a tell-all Instagram post in which she discusses the infamous kiss with David Duchovny at the Emmys in 1997. Rumors flew when she locked lips with her co-star instead of her then boyfriend.
Anderson says in the post that she was living with David Duchovny at the time, and that boyfriend Rodney was her beard.
But in the next breathe she says that this is a joke, and it simply happened because she was working so closely with David, and he was also collecting an award, it seemed natural. X-Files fans everywhere lived the dream for a few seconds, but alas it looks as if the romantic pairing of Mulder and Scully is staying in fiction. Gillian Anderson rocketed to fame playing Dana Scully, the scientist sceptic FBI agent, who investigated paranormal crimes. Mulder and Scully took an agonising seven seasons to finally hook up. The actors had great on-screen chemistry so it’s no wonder that fans always rooted for these two in real life.
Although this would have been cute, its logically impossible. David Duchovny would have been with the mother of children, Téa Leoni who he married in 1997 (although later divorced in 2014).
