The Star Of Disney+'s 'Percy Jackson' Series Has Teased The Release Date Of The Show
While on vacation from filming Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Walker Scobell sat down with his hometown newspaper, Go Erie, to talk about his experiences shooting the much anticipated Disney+ series. He explained that the cast and crew had been working non-stop on production from last May until their break (which started on December 17). Because of this, fans may see the series premiering in late 2023, as opposed to the 2024 release date that both Rick Riordan’s website and Disney+’s landing page for the series have listed.
Scobell, who will be playing the role of Percy Jackson, also mentioned that once he has wrapped up the scenes for the new year, he is finished with production until it is time to start on Season 2. Although, he is not sure when work on the next season is set to begin:
"That's when we film all the cool stuff like the Ares fight [between the Greek god of war and Percy Jackson]...and then I wrap up until Season 2.”

It seems Percy Jackson and the Olympians has already been renewed for another season even before the series has even debuted. This just attests to the popularity of the franchise since its inception as a book series in 2005, and the popularity of the Greek gods for the past 3,000 years.
