The Rings Of Power is Amazon’s massive fantasy series. The series covers the Second Age of Middle Earth, many years before the events of The Hobbit and The Lord Of The Rings. The show is slated to have five seasons, and new information has revealed that season 3 has officially been renewed internally. The renewal information comes from Production Weekly, a subscription publication for people in the industry, to know what will be going into production soon. According to the publication, pre-production has already begun for season 3.

While there has been no information as to when season 2 might be released, the season is actively filming, and there have been leaks online, including photos, of what fans can expect in the new season. The season ended with a fiery Mount Doom, so naturally one of the photos shows a charred village and the aftermath of the eruption. This was also the last place we saw Isildur, but since he survives the Second Age, we’ll probably see him again in season 2. A war room with various conference tables surrounded by concept art also shows the possibility of a major battle in the next season.

While season 2 is still a ways off, it’s a relief to know that season 3 is already in pre-production, and that the story of these characters will continue on screen.
