Salma Hayek Pinault, according to Variety, along with Annie Murphy could be joining the already jam-packed cast of Black Mirror’s season 6. It had been previously announced by Variety that Paapa Essiedu, Zazie Beetz, Aaron Paul, Danny Ramirez, Kata Mara, Josh Hartnett, Anjana Vasan, Auden Thornton, and Clara Rugaardgad signed for the new season of the dystopian anthology series. With Deadline reporting that Rory Culkin was joining the show too.

Having starred in Marvel’s Eternals and Ridley Scott’s House of Gucci recently, Hayek Pinault also completed filming in Italy on Angelina Jolie’s new drama ‘Without Blood’. She is also starring in Magic Mike’s Last Dance.

Annie Murphy is perhaps best known for Netflix’s critically-acclaimed comedy Schitt’s Creek and her Emmy-winning role as Alexis Rose for CBS. Murphy also stars as the lead in Kevin Can F*** Himself on AMC and had a role in the time-loop comedy drama Russian Doll on Netflix.

What We Know About Black Mirror Season 6

News that Black Mirror was returning with its 6th season was revealed by Variety in May. Unsurprisingly, though, details about stories and themes are a closely guarded secret. What we do know is that the latest season will have more episodes than Season 5, which had just 3.

The new season will be the first that Charlie Brooker, the show’s creator, and Annabel Jones, his creative partner have worked on since leaving House of Tomorrow, the production company in January 2020. They are now working under the name of Broke and Bones and Netflix has invested almost $100 into the company.

Black Mirror Season 6 is due to be released on Netflix in late 2023.
