'The Last Of Us' Season 2 In Production
The second season of the critically acclaimed Max series, The Last of Us, is officially in production, according to HBO, which has shared some photos from the upcoming season this past Wednesday.
Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey will reprise their roles as Joel and Ellie, respectively. New cast members include Kaitlyn Deaver as Abby, Young Manzio as Jessie, Danny Ramirez as Manny, Tati Gabriella as Nora, Ariela Barer as Mel, and Spencer Lord as Owen.
The new season is slated to stream on HBO’s streaming platform, Max, sometime in 2025, although an official date has not yet been provided by HBO. The series will continue with Joel and Ellie’s journey together through a dystopian world devastated by a global pandemic, with Ellie possibly being the key to humanity’s survival from a dangerous fungus that turned most of the world’s population into zombies.

There has not been anything officially revealed about the plot, however, from what can be guessed from the photos, Joel appears to be talking with an unknown person and Ellie appears to be brandishing a shotgun, looking out for possible trouble. The season is expected to begin where the first one ended, with Joel and Ellie both having barely escaped death and overlooking a settlement, which is how the 2013 game of the same name ended as well. Whatever the plot holds, it is expected to borrow heavily from the second game released in 2020, The Last of Us Part II, which ensures plentiful new characters and storylines for the series to feature.
