'The Flash' Will Honor 'Arrow' Fight Scenes When Oliver Reunites With Barry

DC

In January, it was announced that the ninth episode of the ninth and final season of The Flash, directed by series star Danielle Panabaker, would feature Sendhil Ramamurthy (Ramsey Rosso/Bloodwork), Keiynan Lonsdale (Wally West/Kid Flash), as well as Arrow allies David Ramsey (John Diggle/Spartan) and Stephen Amell (Oliver Queen/Green Arrow). Now, it seems as if it’s not just a tip of the hat to the show that birthed the universe, but a very substantial tribute.

Having already discussed her place on camera in this final run of episodes, Panabaker also discussed what to expect from her fifth directorial outing. The behind-the-scenes image Ramsey shared of him, star Grant Gustin, Amell, and Lonsdale features “one of the biggest stunts that has ever been done” on The Flash. A second fight sequence she describes as her “homage to the incredible fight sequences that they did on Arrow all those years.” was crafted by stunt coordinator Chris Gordon.

Given another opportunity to describe the “packed” and “extremely emotional” episode Flash showrunner Eric Wallace confirms once again that how the reunion occurs won’t change what happened on Arrow, but instead honor it. All of it, in fact, so he expects tears. The final season of The Flash airs Wednesdays at 8PM on The CW.
