Danielle Panabaker Discusses Her New Character In The Final Season Of 'The Flash'
Danielle Panabaker’s new character for this final season of The Flash may still be a mystery, but at least we know her name. Even if it’s just a starter.
At the end of the season premiere “Wednesday Ever After”, Barry received a call from Caitlin Snow’s phone, but it turned out to be someone who wasn’t Caitlin or Frost, whom Caitlin was trying to revive at the end of the previous season. While showrunner Eric Wallace had assured viewers after it aired that we would learn all about her in this Wednesday’s episode “Hear No Evil”, Panabaker allowed us to not wait that long, as she reveals that she’s at least initially called “Snow”. Her true self will probably make herself known as the season goes on. It comes across as reminiscent of when Quinn Mallory on Sliders was merged with a fraternal double (because Jerry O’Connell had left) and this version of him became known as just “Mallory”.
In spending time with Team Flash, it seems the details of what will be learned include how she came to Team Flash, who brought her to S.T.A.R. Labs, and the partner that she’s working with on her journey. Her story will unfold in a way said to be more surprising and darker than the initial encounter may have implied. It certainly all rolls into a very different dynamic with the team. She’ll even factor into the series finale in some way. As for what happened to Caitlin, she is apparently at the very least not dead, in the way Panabaker speaks about her in the present tense and all the tumult she’s gone through. She’s still not in the best position, but still better than dead. Panabaker is also the director of the ninth episode of the season which is set to feature several returning guest stars including Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen.
