Percy Jackson is here, and the gods are waiting for him! Disney dropped the first teaser trailer for the upcoming exclusive Disney+ series, Percy Jackson And The Olympians. The 33-second trailer does not reveal too much, but it gives the public a brief look at the main trio. It also features two of the Greek gods that will show up during the show, focusing on Ares as an antagonist. Take a look below:

According to IMDB, the plot revolves around Percy and his friends on a quest that takes them across the country to stop a possible war between the gods. From the looks of it, the trio will face some of Greek mythology’s most famous creatures, such as the mighty Minotaur. The teaser also shows some soldiers wearing ancient-looking armor and weapons while crossing a rope bridge. This place could be Camp Half-Blood, where demigods go to practice and train like soldiers from millennia ago. The camp was really well displayed in 2010’s Percy Jackson & the Lightning Thief, demonstrating all the activities available, mythological beings, and the threats from the books.

RELATED:

Our beloved trio of heroes is led by Walker Scobell (Percy Jackson) and is accompanied by Aryan Simhadri (Grover Underwood) and Leah Jeffries (Annabeth Chase). The cast is much more diverse in comparison to the movies released in the previous decade. Ares, it appears, will steal the spotlight. The show could have given the character a more classic outfit, but instead, they chose a biker-looking style for him. And the actor who plays Ares is none other than Adam Copeland, better known as Edge from WWE. Other important names are Jason Gray-Stanford (Monk, A Beautiful Mind), who will play Maron, Lance Riddick (John Wick saga) as Zeus, and Jason Mantzoukas (The Dictator) as Dionysus.

According to Disney+, the show will premiere on December 20th. If it conforms to recent patterns, it will have about an 8-episode span.
