The First Set Footage Of 'Agatha: Darkhold Diaries" Has Been Released
Footage of the WandaVision spin-off series Agatha: Darkhold Diaries has been officially released! As the parent show gets its Blu-ray release, Marvel Studios included a special clip featuring Agatha walking with Joe Locke/Heartstopper; over the entire clip, executive producer and writer Jac Schaeffer and co-executive producer Mary Livanos narrate their feelings behind the character and show.
Shaeffer explained, “I remember Kevin [Feige] saying to me, ‘We really should think about an actual Agatha show,’ and I was like, ‘Where do I sign for that job?’” She was ready to develop Agatha’s character for the MCU early on. Livanos summarizes Agatha, stating that “the character is so deep and heartfelt and dangerous.” She expressed, “Continuing the story of Agatha and getting to know her more was immediately an imperative for us as creatives. There would be nothing more delicious to Agatha Harkness than to be in a spinoff.” Check out the entire bonus clip below!

Agatha: Darkhold Diaries has had an interesting name evolution. The series was first announced in 2021, titled Agatha: House of Harkness. In July of the following year, it was renamed to Agatha: Coven of Chaos. In September 2023 the series came into its current title, making that a fairly recent change. As the Darkhold was, in theory, destroyed across the multiverse in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, this new title has some interesting potential connotations; time will tell if the series will get another name change.
Agatha: Darkhold Diaries is looking at a late 2024 release on Disney+; a specific day or month has not been announced. After breaking free from containment, the titular character allies herself with an unexpected group to go on a quest and restore her powers. While you wait for Darkhold Diaries to drop, WandaVision is available to binge-watch, or rewatch!
