The Best Hugs We've Seen In 'Star Wars'
Star Wars is more than just cool lightsaber fights and good stories. It’s what’s at the core of the series, which are the characters. Over the year, we’ve seen our share of characters come and go, both with happy and sad endings. Even though there are many sad moments within the universe, there are also many happy ones, resulting in hugs. Let’s look at some of the best hugs we’ve seen in Star Wars.
7. Rose & Chewbacca
Another hug that happens at The Rise Of Skywalker. After the First Order is defeated, the Resistance reunites at their base on D’Qar. There are many reunions, and hugs, including one between Chewbacca and Rose. We didn’t see the two get close during the movies, but it's nice to know that they did.

6. Han & Leia ('The Force Awakens')
Han and Leia were the ultimate Star Wars couple until they were separated before the events of the sequel trilogy. The couple reunites for the first time in a while on D’Qar during The Force Awakens. You can tell the hug means so much to both of them, and it's a sweet moment between these two characters.
5. Chewbacca & Han ('Return Of The Jedi')
At the end of Empire Strikes Back, Han Solo is frozen in carbonite, after finally being caught by bounty hunter, Boba Fett. He is then used as decoration at Jabba’s palace on Tatooine. A few years pass, and during Return Of The Jedi, Leia (disguised as a bounty hunter), makes her way in to save Han. She brings Chewbacca with her as a “present” for Jabba. Their plan works until Jabba reveals himself and locks Han up. However, it’s not all bad because he reunites with Chewbacca, who is very happy to see his friend alive and well.
4. Leia & Rey
Unfortunately, this hug wasn’t for a happy reason. After Han Solo is killed by his son, Kylo Ren, Rey goes back to D’Qar to break the news to Leia. Even though Han and Leia were separated at this point, they cared deeply for each other. Rey was the perfect person to share the news with Leia, and the two became closer, with Leia even training her in the last film.
3. Rey & Finn & Poe
This hug was finally for a happy reason. Rey, Finn, and Poe were unsure what their outcome would be during the end of The Rise Of Skywalker, but they decided to keep going and fight the First Order. Luckily they are successful. The Resistance has a much-deserved reunion back at their base, and the three heroes reunite and embrace with a hug.
2. Grogu & Mando
Since Grogu is so small, he has little legs, which results in Din carrying him around most places. The two grow closer but are separated at the end of season 2 when Grogu goes with Luke. They have a surprise reunion during The Book Of Boba Fett finale, where Grogu jumps into Din’s arms. It’s an adorable moment, between two characters who deserve a happy ending together.
1. Jyn & Cassian
This is the saddest hug in all of Star Wars. Throughout the events of Rogue One, Jyn, and Cassian grow closer. By the movie's end, they know they aren’t surviving their mission, so they decide to go out the best way they know how, by holding each other close, while explosions happen in the distance. It was nice to know that even though they were going to die, they were going to die together.
Hugs are a great way to show someone you care, and that's no different in Star Wars. Each of these hugs was important and showed how much each character cared for each other. These aren’t all of them, as there are too many to include on this list, but these are some of the ones that any Star Wars fan would know.
