The Directors For The Upcoming 'Ahsoka' Show Were Just Revealed At Star Wars Celebration London
News is breaking via Twitter of the directors slated to work on the upcoming show Ahsoka: Dave Filoni, Steph Green, Peter Ramsey, Jennifer Getzinger, Geeta Patel, and Rick Famuyiwa. Fans are not surprised to find Dave Filoni attached to the project, with the character of Ahsoka being his creation in the Star Wars universe. Filoni is also attached alongside Jon Favearu for their work together on The Mandalorian. Another familiar face in the Star Wars universe is Rick Famuyiwa, who directed four episodes of The Mandalorian, wrote two episodes, and portrayed Jib Dodger.
Peter Ramsey, who worked on Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, is directing one episode of the season, but is very familiar with the Star Wars universe, having directed The Mandalorian episode entitled The Pirate. Steph Green worked on The Book of Boba Fett, but her previous work includes Luke Cage, Man in the High Castle, and Preacher.

New to the Star Wars universe is Jennifer Getzinger; however, she directed episodes of Daredevil and Jessica Jones for Marvel Studios and HBO’s recently canceled hit Westworld. Geeta Patel is also a newcomer, with a resume stacked with Santa Clarita Diet, The Mindy Project, and HBO’s House of the Dragon.
The villain for Ashoka was announced in the past couple days, with Lars Mikkelsen returning at Grand Admiral Thrawn. Fans are excited for his return, as he voiced the character previously on Star Wars Rebels.
At this time, the release date for Ahsoka is August 2023.
