The CW's 'The Flash' Brings Back 3 Major Characters For The Final Season
For The Flash’s ninth and final season, several guest stars have already been announced. Ranging from expected allies and recent rogues to those visiting from other series from within the universe, these thirteen episodes are going to be packed. So what’s another three more? It has been confirmed that Rick Cosnett, Matt Letscher, and Jessica Parker Kennedy will be making appearances this season, after all having appeared in season 8 in varying capacities.
Cosnett was an original star of The Flash, playing CCPD Detective Eddie Thawne, who had also become Iris West’s boyfriend during Barry’s coma. After he sacrificed himself in an attempt to erase the Reverse Flash Eobard Thawne from the timeline in the season 1 finale, he would usually appear in person through time travel to his living times, or as supernatural manifestations, such as the Speed Force using his likeness in season 3 to encourage Barry or Deathstorm using it in season 8 to torture Iris. Speaking of Eobard Thawne, his original face, Matt Letscher is back as well, following a welcome presence in 2022 with not only two episodes in the final arc of The Flash, but two very satisfying episodes on Legends of Tomorrow, having not played in the Arrowverse since the 2016-17 season, which featured his Flashpoint and Legion of Doom involvement respectively. Every time Eobard Thawne appeared on The Flash in between, and even after, he was using his Harrison Wells face, thus played by longtime series regular Tom Cavanagh.

As for Jessica Parker Kennedy, her return as Nora West-Allen is probably the most expected. The character debuted with 5 mysterious appearances in season 4 that started in the Supergirl portion of Crisis on Earth-X, being revealed as Barry and Iris’s future daughter. Even having been erased from existence and brought back as a twin to Bart, we are five seasons later and Iris is definitely getting pregnant this season after what will be more than a season and a half of actively trying. After all, not only is payoff important but so is family, according to showrunner Eric Wallace.
The Flash’s final season premieres Wednesday, February 8 on The CW. Stay tuned to CultureSlate as soon I’ll be exploring several more characters who should make appearances in the final season.
