The CW Released The First Trailer For The Final Season Of ‘The Flash’
The status of DC’s Barry Allen/The Flash character has gone through quite the whirlwind lately, especially with Ezra Miller’s many run-ins with the law.
On a positive note for the character, the trailer for the ninth and final season of WB’s The Flash was released this week. The final season premiere is slated for June 23, 2023, and consists of 13 episodes, far fewer than its other seasons.

It’s been known that the final season of The Flash will include a significant crossover event, which the “Arrowverse” thrived on during its peak. Nicole Maines will likely be a big part of that crossover event. Reports confirm that she will reprise her role as Dreamer, who debuted in Season 4 of Supergirl. The character is known as the first trans superhero in television history.
The official synopsis of season nine of The Flash reads as follows:
“After defeating the Reverse Flash once and for all, the ninth season of THE FLASH picks up one week later following their epic battle, and Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and Iris West-Allen (Candice Patton) are reconnecting and growing closer than ever before. But when a deadly group of Rogues descend on Central City led by a powerful new threat, The Flash and his team—Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker), Meta-Empath Cecile Horton (Danielle Nicolet), the light-powered meta Allegra Garcia (Kayla Compton), brilliant tech-nerd Chester P. Runk (Brandon McKnight), and reformed cryogenics thief Mark Blaine (Jon Cor)—must once again defy impossible odds to save the day. But as The Rogues are defeated, a deadly new adversary rises to challenge Barry Allen’s heroic legacy. And in their greatest battle yet, Barry and Team Flash will be pushed to their limits, in order to save Central City one last time.”
Grant Gustin posted a video on his Instagram feed back in August after hearing the announcement that the next season of The Flash would be his last. Gastin will have portrayed Barry Allen in The Flash for nine years, the longest tenure of any actor or character in the WB’s “Arrowverse,” which included Arrow, Supergirl, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Black Lightning, and Batwoman.
It is unclear if this will be the last time we see Gastin don the red Flash suit. Rumors have swirled for a long time that Gustin may make a cameo in The Flash movie. At one point, rumors suggested Gastin could be in line to replace Miller in the film, which has been delayed to release in 2023.
