'The Acolyte' Earns A Top Three Spot In Most Talked About Show

Despite or perhaps because of this controversial approach, the show earned a top three spot in the most talked about series with only House of the Dragon and The Boys ahead of it. As of Monday, July 22, The Acolyte sits as the fifth most popular online TV show, ranking #3 in sci-fi and fantasy and #1 in mystery. It is currently the #1 show in Disney Plus. A line graph from Television Stats shows the series peaking in popularity on Wednesdays, which makes sense as it aired on Tuesday nights.
While the twist excited some fans and angered others, the show was a victim of the process of review bombing, a tactic used to skew the popularity of a show downward before it releases. Even with this obstacle, the show managed to gain popularity with some fans already calling for a season two with the #RenewTheAcolyte hashtag on X.
