'Terrifier 3' Seems To Be Too Much For Some Moviegoers
It’s no big controversy to say that Art the Clown has become the next icon in horror. Debuting in the 2013 horror anthology All Hallows’ Eve, Art’s brutal sadism combined with the gleefully comic, over-the-top acting by David Howard Thornton has made Art into a beloved icon. He’s still not on the levels of Freddy, Jason, and Michael, but he’s making his way up there.
His main claim to fame is the Terrifier film series, one that focuses on him exclusively. The first one received mixed reviews, but the second one was a critical and commercial success. However, what really makes Art stand out is his brutality. Some of his kills would make Jigsaw blush (bedroom kill, anybody?), and it’s all elevated by Thornton’s gleeful performance. With that in mind, the one rule that horror sequels almost always follow is this: bigger and better. Given that everyone was disturbed by the second film, how would the third be received?

Not well for some people, as it turns out. In an official screening in the UK, eleven people walked out in just the first five minutes, with one of them even vomiting. The director, Damien Leone, knew this full well going into this. In an interview, he stated:
"I knew they weren't going to let me make this movie based on the first five pages. Like, that's how insane Terrifier 3 is."
Keep in mind that this is just a private screening in the UK. Once the general audience can watch it for the first time… they’ll probably have more than eleven walkouts.
Terrifier 3 is due for release on October 11th
