'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem' Will Get A Physical 4K UHD, Blu-Ray And DVD Release With Over 40 Minutes of Bonus Content
Despite new movies hitting a streaming service often mere weeks after their cinematic release, there has been some resurgence in distributing movies on physical media. Studios hope to cover some of their losses this way after a movie had a rather disappointing run on the big screens. One film that is getting a release on DVD, Blu-Ray, and 4k UHD later this year is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, one of the surprise hits of this year's blockbuster summer.
The seventh TMNT movie (and the second reboot after Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles from 2014) grossed an impressive $179 million at the worldwide box office, with a production budget of around $70 million. Aside from this financial success, the movie was praised for its story, screenplay, and rather stylistic yet fresh and cute animation by critics and the audience. No wonder a sequel and an animated TV show for Paramount+ are in development.

The film in 4K UHD, Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K UHD steelbook edition will be available on December 12 and include more than 40 minutes of bonus material in the form of three behind-the-scenes featurettes and a tutorial video on how to draw Leonardo, one of the four titular turtles.
Mutant Mayhem is a combination of an origin and coming-of-age story wrapped in a superhero movie, touching topics like family, friendship, and acceptance of being different. After a mutagen accidentally gets into the New York sewer system, four turtle brothers, Michelangelo, Leonardo, Raphael, and Donatello, and a rat named Splinter turn into humanoid mutants. Afraid of what men could do to them, the quintet hides in the shadows until they are forced to reveal themselves to stop a villain named Superfly and his army of mutants.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem was written by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Dan Hernandez, Benji Samit, and Jeff Rowe, who also directed the movie. The voice cast includes Micah Abbey (Donatello), Shamon Brown Jr. (Michelangelo), Nicolas Cantu (Leonardo), Brady Noon (Raphael) and Jackie Chan as Splinter. Further voice talents were Ayo Edebiri, John Cena, Seth Rogen, Rose Byrne, Giancarlo Esposito, Ice Cube, and Paul Rudd.
Before its December release on physical media, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem became available on Paramount+ on September 19.
