The Star Wars Comics Panel (though it only featured Dark Horse Comics) at New York Comic Con 2024 has just wrapped up, and CultureSlate is here to break down all of the reveals and news.

Much like yesterday’s Lucasfilm Publishing Panel, this gathering focused on The High Republic, with copious cover reveals, interior pages, artwork, and some narrative details given for various comic issues and stories releasing in the coming months. Notable among this news was the information that The High Republic Adventures is approaching its finale event, the Battle of Eriadu, which looks to be an intense fight between the Nihil and the Jedi with their allies, the RDC, involving the home of the Tarkin family.

A connected one-shot focusing on characters Driggit Parse and Jedi Youngling Gavi will explore their much more personal fight on either side of the Battle, as the two former friends were torn apart by the Nihil occupation of Valo. Their story was originally detailed in the first middle-grade book of Phase 3, Escape from Valo.

Other news related to Dark Horse’s coming comic slate revealed some more information on the long-delayed graphic novel Hyperspace Stories: Qui-Gon Jinn. The story will examine Qui-Gon’s time as a Padawan to Dooku and the other as a Master to a young Obi-Wan Kenobi, with the common thread between the two time periods being the Brothers of the Ninth Door. This group, first created by author George Mann for The High Republic, is a unique Dark Side faith that caused some trouble in Phase 2 on Jedha. Two more graphic novels, one focused on Mace Windu and another on General Grievous, were also announced, though no release dates were stated.

The final announcement of the panel was the reveal of a new Poe Dameron comic whose events take place close to The Force Awakens. Set to feature Poe on a secret mission, the comic is being written by Ethan Sacks but has no current release date.
