DC Studios is confirming the next Clark Kent and Lois Lane as David Corenset and Rachel Brosnahan for the upcoming Superman: Legacy, written and directed by co-CEO James Gunn. Corenswet’s filmography includes work in Pearl and The Politician and Brosnahan’s filmography from the stellar Prime series The Marvelous Ms. Maisel and Netflix’s House of Cards.

The Hollywood Reporter broke the story, which was then verified by James Gunn himself via his Twitter page, tweeting, “Accurate! (They are not only both incredible actors but also wonderful people).

Both actors names appeared on the film’s respective short list of actors in pursuit of the coveted King and Queen of the DC Universe. Recently, James Gunn appeared on an episode of Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum discussing how the audition process for the two roles was going.

Gunn said, “We’re not done yet. By the way— there’s a lot of stories out there about who we’re auditioning and all these screen tests. I’m just saying it’s not all true, that’s for sure. There’s things in there that are completely false, but I can’t go out there and say, ‘Oh, this isn’t true, and this isn’t true’ without going through everything.”

Not much is known about Superman: Legacy other than within Gunn and Peter Safran’s new universe of heroes, Clark Kent will be considerably younger than seen in previous films. Superman: Legacy will be a key film within the first saga of DC Studios films entitled Gods and Monsters, which will include a Batman film entitled The Brave and the Bold, based upon the comic of the same name, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, Swamp Thing and The Authority. The saga will include multiple series set to debut through Max, formerly HBO Max, such as Waller, Booster Gold, Lantern, Paradise Lost, and an animated series called Creature Commandos
