Stellan Skarsgard Teases "A Very Good Season" Ahead For 'Andor'
Dune: Part II is due to release this weekend, and early reviews have it heralded as one of the best adaptations of the eponymous novels of all time. Stellan Skarsgard, who starred in Andor as Luthen Rael, also stars in the epic as Baron Harkonnen. Doing the press tour rounds, he’s also been pressed about the upcoming second, and final, season of Andor.
In a recent interview during the press stuff for Dune, Skarsgard was asked about Andor, and he had some things to say about it. He told Games Radar, “It's the last season of it. It ends where Rogue One starts so it’s up to that point. I think it will be very good as already the first one was satisfying for me because it’s sort of Star Wars for grown-ups – it’s a more realistic and complicated society that they’re living in and the claustrophobia of the fascist regime is palpable. I think we have a good season ahead of us.”

It’s not much to go on, but given the critical success of the first season, and the praise for his portrayal of Luthen, it’s a solid appraisal to go on for the final season.
The second season is supposed to end right before Rogue One begins, which implies several things. One of those is that we’ll see K-2SO finally. Many thought maybe that was him in season one when Andor was arrested by a security droid, but that turned out to be incorrect. There will be leaps in time every few episodes, as season one was about five years before Rogue One.
There hasn’t been much said about the release date for season two. It was noticeable that it was not on Disney’s release schedule for 2024, but that remains a possibility.
