‘Star Wars’: Cargo Bay Teaches Children The Way To Be A Creature Caretaker

Disney Wish in dry dock

It’s 2022, and summer is well underway. The days are getting hot, the nights are shorter, and cool drinks can be found on every corner. It’s times like this that are made for blockbusters, but there isn’t going to be a new Star Wars movie for quite a while. This is by no means a lack of content. In fact, there’s already something on the horizon for the fans. In a few days, Disney will be launching this for the very first time, and it’s something that Star Wars fans have not been expecting but hopefully can come to appreciate on their own.

Disney Wish is the latest member of the Disney Cruise Line fleet. This cruise features two experiences for Star Wars fans onboard. The first is Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge, a themed bar with several Solo-inspired designs. Star Wars Hyperspace Lounge was the brainchild of Disney Imagineer Danny Handke, who is spearheading something that’s never been attempted before: Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge, a high-end, immersive Star Wars bar for adults. And the second is Star Wars: Cargo Bay, an experience fit for the entire family.

One of the experiences at Star Wars Cargo Bay is Creature Caretaker, an interactive experience that offers a unique insight into the Star Wars galaxy. In this experience, children are given an opportunity to learn about many of the various creatures in the galaxy, including the Worrt, the Loth-cat, a Porg, and a Dokma. This will likely serve as an introduction to these creatures for many of them, so the experience includes a ton of information, specifically names, habitats, worlds, behavior, and more. In addition, visitors will be able to interact with and feed these creatures through the use of highly advanced animatronics and puppetry. The goal is to take care of these lovely creatures and ensure they make it to Batuu safely through augmented-reality datapads.

But that’s not all that can happen in this attraction, for kids will be able to meet up with old friends from the sequel trilogy, next to one of the most iconic characters in the entire Saga. That’s right, Rey and Chewbacca are back to serve as characters in Star Wars: Cargo Bay and to aid the kids in their job. We don’t really know who’s playing them, though it’s safe to assume it’s not their actors from the sequel trilogy but stand-ins like the ones seen roaming around Batuu in Galaxy’s Edge In Cargo Bay something has gone wrong on the ship, and it’s up to you, or someone in your group to repair the problem. Rey and Chewbacca, stowaways on board, will help you get your bearings straight and assist with correcting the issue. As far as we know, this involves Force-pushing a Rathtar back into its cell because what kid wouldn’t want to have force powers?

Star Wars is not the only Disney franchise represented on the cruise. It includes experiences based on The IncrediblesInside Out, and Frozen, with three rotational experiences based upon classic Hollywood, Frozen again, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, along with other non-branded attractions. Unfortunately, no news about any schools onboard, so you can’t experience the Suite Life On Deck. Disney Wish will begin its maiden voyage on July 14, after several years of construction, with its first port in the Bahamas. Try and keep a look out for where it’ll appear next. It shouldn’t be too hard to get on board, but knowing Disney’s theme parks, you’ll likely have to work a little. With that out of the way, it’s time to return to the Unknown Regions of the internet.
