Someone Else Was Meant To Be The Chosen One In 'Star Wars'
Since the Star Wars prophecy of the chosen one was revealed, fans have debated who is the real chosen one. The full text of the prophecy reads: Only through sacrifice of many Jedi will the Order cleanse the sin done to the nameless. The danger of the past is not past, but sleeps in an egg. When the egg cracks, it will threaten the galaxy entire. When the Force itself sickens, past and future must split and combine. A Chosen One shall come, born of no father, and through him will ultimate balance in the Force be restored.
Many fans assumed Anakin to be the Chosen One as he was a Jedi Knight who turned to the dark side. His connection to the Force could be considered sickened as he went from Jedi to Sith. However, others make a compelling case for Anakin’s daughter Leia being the real Chosen One, at least in George Lucas’ original vision for the saga.

The animated series The Clone Wars focused on the Chosen One prophecy and hinted that the mantle would change from one Skywalker to another. Naturally, many thought Luke would be the new Chosen One, given his abilities with the Force. However, there is another Force-sensitive Skywalker who could be the true Chosen One. In a quest to discover how to manifest as a Force ghost, Yoda receives a message from a Force priestess that says, “There is another Skywalker.” Yoda later repeats these words in The Empire Strikes Back. Obi-Wan claims Luke is their last hope to which Yoda responds, “No, there is another.”
Lucas confirmed he meant to have Leia as the Chosen One. In his sequel trilogy that never manifested after he sold the franchise to Disney, Darth Maul would have returned and been defeated by Leia. In Disney’s sequel movies, Leia exhibited some qualities of the Chosen One. She managed to survive in space and used the Force to return to the ship. Her death in the final film returns Kylo Ren to his Ben Solo persona and leads to him teaming up with Rey to defeat Snoke. The reveal that Snoke was actually Palpatine and Rey’s father, fulfills the line that past and future must split and combine. Leia was born right as Anakin was turning to the Dark Side, leaving her fatherless, and the eventual defeat of Palpatine/Snoke restores the balance, thus fulfilling the prophecy.
