These Voice Actors Are Returning For 'LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga'
After a long but well-justified wait, the legendary LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is finally being released on April 5, 2022. Raising the bar substantially once again, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is an extremely content-rich installment that covers the content of all nine movies in the prequel, original, and sequel trilogies, offering a broad range of 300 different characters for players to use in exploring twenty-four iconic planets in the galaxy far, far away.
Many fans of the previous LEGO Star Wars games would recall the no-dialogue, gibberish-spouting characters as being a hilarious highlight of the gaming experience. While such a mode of communication would see its return via the optional “mumble mode” that players can choose for a more nostalgic experience, it is also most certainly an exciting highlight that the voice-over of many iconic characters in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will be done by none other than their original voice actors. This is many steps above just pulling preexisting dialogues from the movies.

Through smash-hit animated series, such as The Clone Wars and Rebels, Star Wars has accumulated a cast of talented professional voice actors who embody the persona of characters in the universe. It is therefore a delight to see them return for the new dialogue in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. According to Ashnflash, a Youtuber who received early access to the game's demo, there are currently eight confirmed voice actors that would return to reprise their famous roles for the game's newly recorded dialogue.
These include Matt Lanter and James Arnold Taylor, the voices behind Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi, respectively, from Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series. Similarly, Corey Burton who voiced Count Dooku (and also Cad Bane) in the same series would portray the devious Sith Lord once again. It is also both a joy and relief that Tom Kane, whose recent stroke prompted his decision to retire, would be returning to provide the voice of Yoda and Qui-Gon Jinn as in various earlier Star Wars projects. While many may recognize Sam Witwer as the voice and model for Starkiller in The Force Unleashed games, he also voiced Darth Maul in The Clone Wars, Rebels, and Solo, and Emperor Palpatine in various videogames. He would reprise these roles in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.
Aside from animated series voice actors, Anthony Daniels and Billy Dee Williams, who played the witty C-3PO and charming Lando Calrissian in the live-action movies, would also be joining LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga cast to voice their characters in the game. This is the same for Matthew Wood, the voice behind General Grievous in Revenge of the Sith and The Clone Wars series. Reports said that he would be voicing the battle droids in the game as well.
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is looking to make a breakthrough in LEGO Star Wars gaming history. It is simply fitting that the voice-overs of the in-game characters be as impressive as the actual gameplay. The news of these eight voice actors providing the voice for the game's characters is, therefore, most welcomed. Many of them have become household names among animated Star Wars fans to a level close to that of live-action actors such as Hayden Christensen, Ewan McGregor, and Ian McDiarmid. The actual dialogue mode of the game would therefore appear to be a great default addition to the original LEGO Star Wars gaming experience, hyping up the game even more ahead of its official launch on April 5, 2022.
