Kenobi Premiere Delayed By 2 Days... But Here's The Good News
Lucasfilm announced on their YouTube channel today that the Kenobi series will be premiering on Friday, May 27th, 2022 instead of its initial release date of Wednesday May 25th, 2022. This original release date was presumably due to it being the 45th anniversary of the release of Star Wars: A New Hope in 1977.
While no reason was given for the change, it's possible that the reason is either to tie up their Marvel and Star Wars release schedules, with all Kenobi episodes premiering on Fridays, and Marvel being released on Wednesdays as per usual. However it is also possible, since the premiere will be taking place during the second day of Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, California, that Lucasfilm is preparing a special event for the premiere at Celebration.

While many fans could understandably be disappointed by the delay, Lucasfilm, with the help of Ewan McGregor, sweetened the deal. Ewan announced that the aforementioned premiere will now be a two-episode premiere instead of one, meaning both episodes will be released on Disney+ simultaneously on the 27th.
With double the content, and the limitless possibilities Star Wars Celebration now holds, how can we be mad?
