Video game adaptations to film have come far lately, with successful runs of the Super Mario Bros. Movie, the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, and the runaway success of The Last of Us and Fallout.
Filming and production are currently underway for season two of Fallout, which aired on Amazon Prime Video last year and was widely praised for its take on the nuclear wasteland of the beloved Bethesda Softworks game series. Starring Ella Purnell, Walton Goggins, and Aaron Moten, the season ended with a showdown between the New California Republic and the Brotherhood of Steel. The last shot was of the Ghoul (Walton Goggins) walking off into the distance, the telltale spire of New Vegas piercing the sky.
Fans of the games will remember that Sin City, renamed New Vegas, was the focal point for one of fans’ favorite games in the series, Fallout: New Vegas. While the showrunners have confirmed New Vegas factors in to the new season, we now have the first look at the iconic game location via a set leak posted on Kotaku.

The iconic Lucky 38 Casino can be seen in the picture with some production crew standing about, and a retro-futurism car, emblematic of the setting of the games, in the foreground.
New Vegas is set as the hub of the game, which released in 2010, and three factions are vying for control of the neutral city: the New California Republic, Caesar’s Legion (a tribal army opposing the expansion of the NCR), and Mr. House, who is in control of New Vegas and uses murderous robots to keep order. There are other minor factions in the area, one of which is the well-known Brotherhood of Steel.
Plot details are still vague, but it is definitely possible the city and our characters from season one become the center of attention in a wasteland that may be devoid of much, but politics and war not so much.
Because war never changes.
