Rosario Dawson And Ashley Eckstein Meet On The Set Of 'Ahsoka'
Talking on the Dagobah Dispatch podcast, Ashley Eckstein reminisces about meeting Rosario Dawson on the set of Ahsoka. Ashley Eckstein has been voicing Ahsoka Tano for 14 years across the animated series. With the former Jedi’s live-action appearance, many had expected Eckstein to get a chance at that live-action portrayal. Such wouldn’t come true, with Rosario Dawson taking to the role in the second season of The Mandalorian perfectly. Not long after that appearance, the Ahsoka series was announced.
Production on that series is currently in progress, which gave Eckstein the chance to meet the live-action counterpart of Ahsoka. “I’ve been waiting to meet her for three years,” Eckstein recalls, “and I was so excited.” The two had a positive interaction with each other, which Eckstein says, “was such an incredible moment.”

Her appearance on set has brought speculation that she has a cameo within the Ahsoka series, much as The Clone Wars co-star Matt Lanter had during season 1 of The Mandalorian. Eckstein is quick to burn such sparks of speculation. “People are like ‘she’s on the set. She played a character.’ No, it was just a set visit. So I have not filmed a cameo for the Ahsoka series.”
Though Rosario Dawson might be portraying Ahsoka in live-action, Eckstein has still been her voice within the animated series. The anthology short series Tales of the Jedi featured Ahsoka, showing three pivotal events from her life. That animated series is viewable on Disney+. The Ahsoka live-action series is set for release on that platform sometime in 2023.
