Robert Pattinson's 'The Batman' Sequel Delayed To 2026
Fans of Matt Reeves’ 2022 DC film “The Batman” will have to wait a little while longer for the highly anticipated sequel, as “The Batman Part II” has officially been delayed according to an article by Variety. The Batman Part II, which would mark Robert Pattionson’s return to the titular role, was initially slated to release on October 3rd, 2025. But due to some of Warner Bros.'s future films also being shuffled around, this film sadly was pushed back to October 2nd, 2026.
This wouldn’t be the first time that Matt Reeves’ Batman films have experienced significant delays, as “The Batman” also experienced heavy delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The film was originally slated for a June 2021 release but was pushed back to October 2021, before finally releasing in theaters in March 2022.

The Batman, starring Robert Pattinson, was a mystery-thriller focused on Bruce Wayne in his early years as Batman and saw him navigating Gotham’s criminal underworld on the hunt for the Riddler. He was joined by Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, Zoe Kravitz as Selina Kyle aka Catwoman, Paul Dano as The Riddler, and Colin Ferrel as The Penguin, who is set to receive his own spinoff on Max later this year.
It’s also unclear if or how these shifts in production schedules and release dates will impact Andy Muscietti and James Gunn’s film “Batman: The Brave and the Bold,” which is set in a different continuity from Reeves’ films, which now act as an “Elseworlds” entry in the DCU.
