I had the privilege of attending the UK Fans Screening of Ahsoka at the BFI IMAX Waterloo in London, UK. Star Wars fans are certainly in for a treat when Ahsoka hits Disney+ this week.

Familiar characters from the Star Wars Rebels animated series have translated very well into live-action. The real plus for me is that we have a very credible set of new villains presented to us and it will be interesting to see how their stories, and history, develop throughout the series.

Visual effects are great as you would expect for a Star Wars show. This is true for both the little things all the way up to large-scale effects too. Ahsoka is a visual treat. On the Ahsoka theme and soundtrack front, Kevin Kiner performs his magic on the score with lots of original music that carries overtones of classic Star Wars themes which fit everything beautifully and give an air of familiarity. There’s even input from Ludwig Göransson too who did fantastic work on The Mandalorian.

Dave Filoni has perfectly captured the look and feel of his Star Wars Rebels show and it makes a seamless transition into the live-action environment.

Ahsoka will be a must-watch Star Wars show and the excitement and frustration of having to wait a week for each episode will be real. Ahsoka is visually stunning, musically spot on, and a great entry point into new Star Wars adventures.
